ksmbprintd is a simple user agent that enables SSO printing to Windows 2000/2003 Print servers.

This agent will work only on Mac OS X 10.5 clients bounded to the related Active Directory forrest.

Usage

Enabling ksmbprint requires you to define the printers with the URI prefix ‘ksmb://’ instead of the usual ‘smb://’.

Printers URIs can be set in the Advanced settings of the Print & Fax system preference or by calling the following command line:

$> sudo lpadmin \

        -p PRINTER \

        -v "ksmb://windows-print-server/PRINTER" \

        -E -m laserjet.ppd
