2nd install deploystudio on a external hard drive

Hay,

i use a deploystudio on a macosx server with netboot.
I want a 2nd install on hard drive for better mobility so i install osx on external harddrive with deploystudio.

How can i copy the workflow and data img to the first server to the hard drive?

Yes you can, but it is not so easy.

-Install macOS (latest version to boot most Mac's) on the external disk (USB3 , if possible with SSD)
-Boot from this disk
-install deploystudio
-Configure deploystudio, select LOCAL repository (like /Users/Shared/DS_Repo) , and localhost or https://your_mac_name.local:60443 as url ( DHCP ...)
-Copy all files in the Repository on your network DS server to your local Repository.
-Start DS Admin, it should show all workflows, computers and all images.

-Check each workflow; the settings (specifically targets) must be checked.
Targets like 'first disk availalble' may not work.
Uncheck all 'automate' checkboxes, and run the Runtime manually can see what works and what not.

A known issue is that at the end of a workflow Runtime will quit. In a netboot environment the Mac will reboot, you need to do that manually when booted from external HD.

Good luck!
