iMac 18,3 kernel panic upon restoring

I have twenty six,  27" 5k iMacs, Model 18,3 that I am attempting to restore.
I have successfully completed restoring about half of them, but upon the final DS workflow reboot, a few are kernel panicking.

The restore image (Sierra v10.12.5 - out of the box) was captured using DS Version 1.7.6 (170108)
The Netboot set was created using DS Version 1.7.6 (170108) using this same iMac 18,3 hardware.

Anyone experiencing this?  Resolution strategies?

Please and thank you,
Josh

Re: iMac 18,3 kernel panic upon restoring

I know our iMac 18,2 had to have 10.12.6 to work. Upgrade your os before making netboot (using the install from the app store for it to update the recovery partition) and make sure the restored image is 10.12.6 as well.

Looks like 18,3 probably came with a special build of os 10.12.6 which means you have to create netboot from that newer style machine until os 10.12.7 comes out (not likely) or 10.13.

Re: iMac 18,3 kernel panic upon restoring

Thanks all for your replies. It looks like after updating my Netboot set to 10.12.6 I am on the road to success.  I should know here in a few hours.
