System Version Mismatch...

I keep getting the error "System Version Mismatch" saying something about the recovery partition having a version mismatch with the OS.  So the recovery partition is 10.11.1 and the OS is 10.11.2.  I click on ignore so the Netboot image will be created (and that is successful).  When I boot from another computer, I see it as a Netboot option, when I select it, the system starts to boot, then Kernal panics.  I don't know what to do to fix this issue.  I got one image to work once, but I didn't have something else configured properly.

Please help!

Re: System Version Mismatch...

Hi Trikster,

The quickest way is the following:
-download recoverypartitionupdater from MagerValp: https://github.com/MagerValp/Create-Recovery-Partition-Installer
-create the new recoveryPartion-installer
-install/update your existing Recoverypartition
-create a new NetBoot-set with the right RecoveryPartion-version

Another possibility is to re-download the El Capitan-installer from the App-Store and run the installer (on the disk you will use to as a base for creating the new netboot-set). This will also update your recovery-partition, but is more time-consuming.

Re: System Version Mismatch...

No problem. However, you should thank MagerValp, he made Create-Recovery-Partition...

Re: System Version Mismatch...

:) If I ever bump into him, I certainly will.

Got my first image captured, basic test goes out tomorrow. After that, we'll see how it scales. Very exciting time for me!

Re: System Version Mismatch...

unluckily, Recoverypartitioncreator does not work with 10.11.3. It did perfectly until 10.11.2...

Re: System Version Mismatch...

Hi folks
I have half a roomful of newish iMacs that came with Yosemite installed. Unpacked 1 m/c, Made a netboot set, installed all our software etc., booted into DS runtime from the netboot and made a master. Re-imaged the rest of the m/c's from that . . . so far so good.

A few months later after various updates, what-have-you, none will boot from the netboot. I run DS Assistant to make new netboot set . . . viola!! "Version Mismatch". Is not this Restore Partition just a lot of bollocks? Can't I just recover from my image on the DS server? Is there some way of not having it at all, and circumventing all this mismatch stuff?

Also, none of my older iMacs (all running SnowLeopard) will boot from the .nbi created with the newer m/c's even before the current prob's.

I have downloaded the ElCap and will install it and start again from there, but I really don't want to have to go thru that every time . . .

Re: System Version Mismatch...

Hi guys,
I've followed the steps above and used the latest installer from the App Store, which was 10.11.5 and build and successfully run the updater from MagerValp, Create-Recovery-Partition, but i end up with a Recovery Partition of 10.11.5 and my Netboot Image that i am trying to create is for 10.11.6
Is there a way to update the recovery partition with a combo updater instead of the system image?

*Nevermind* found the 10.11.6 installer in the App Store...
