deploystudio server on a MacBook Pro

Well, I’m a newbie so, please be patient I currently  have a MacBook Pro which I am going to use Server installed on it ver:4.1.3.  Is there anyone in the forum that has set this type of server up on a MacBook pro as a server just for deploying images? I'm looking for a walk through type help.

Thanks for all your help

Re: deploystudio server on a MacBook Pro

there should be no difference between setting it up on a laptop vs a desktop.  os x server used to not be completely "supported" by apple for laptops but I think they've gotten bored with that and now will claim support for any current mac.

I'm having issues connecting clients to DHCP, what should I look at?

Re: deploystudio server on a MacBook Pro

there are some known issues with DS and DNS.  see if it works via IP address

Re: deploystudio server on a MacBook Pro

no, just try using the ip address instead of the domain name and see if that works any better for you.

Re: deploystudio server on a MacBook Pro

Here is an update, the Macbook Pro is on Yosemite  and the Macbook is on Snow Leopard 10.6.8, would that be an issue?
