Support for .DMG (Drag and Drop) installers

Is it possible to add support for installers that are simple drag n drop? Examples would be those like FireFox or Google Chrome where you just drag the .app into /Applications. Not sure how hard it would be to arrange this, but figured I'd throw it out as a feature request.

Re: Support for .DMG (Drag and Drop) installers

You may try adding a File Copy task to your workflow.

You can define the file owners and permissions for the target directory and all items within.
Usually with well-behaving apps will go with root, admin: r+w, others: read-only

It should be enough for deploying drag and drop apps.
Remember that some apps may need admin privileges when they are run the first time if they like to install some additional services or daemons in the system.

And you have to remove the quarantine flags from the copied app before copying it to Deploy Studio repository.
I am not sure if DS will remove quarantine flags (it should, at least optionally).

If you need a deployment system that will handle drag&drop apps and remove quarantine flags automatically (and does so much more) please do check out Munki.
It has a learning curve but I think it pays off in the long run...
