What's new
Core
- Group default network settings support. Dragging computers to a group will now set the computer’s network settings if defined,
- ‘postponed package installation’ option added to the package installation action. This option will install packages at first boot in order to support packages requiring a boot volume destination,
- “Shutdown” workflow action added to force the computer to shutdown instead of rebooting when the workflow is completed,
- “Partition” workflow action updated to allow up to 4 partitions creation.
Bug fixes
Core
- a multicast stream is now automatically stopped after the last client has released its connection,
- compressed disk images permissions fix,
- triple-OS workflow example updated: the Linux partition was moved from partition 2 to partition 1 which would turn restoration on heterogeneous hard drives more reliable,
- added support for mounting correctly NFS paths containing space characters,
- the “Shrink NTFS partition size before imaging” option is now enabled by default,
- the Active Directory binding script was updated in order to retry a binding upon a failure during 2 minutes (was 30 s).
Server
- multicast client data rate configuration fix,
- the repository folder path will no more be created automatically by the server in order to preserve the integrity of the /Volumes/ content. So, think about creating the repository folder on disk before configuring DeploySutdio for the first time,
- improved unconfigured server startup.
Runtime
- missing /usr/share/zoneinfo files added to the netboot system,
- date and time syncing was disabled now that the netboot set localtime link is fixed,
- DS_USER_LOGIN environment variable is set to the login of the authenticated user,
- additionnal input/output statistics display,
- directory binding installation scripts calls are no more logged to prevent the directory administrator password to appear in clear text,
- multicast data rate slider fix,
- Local KDC is now automatically reconfigured on first boot when restoring Leopard clients,
- Generic actions result code fix,
- more verbose packages installation.

Admin
- bootstrap files deletion bug fix (compressed NTFS and DEV masters only),
- multicast data rate slider fix,
- Support for Nightly Builds added to the ‘check for updates’ functionality,
- partition action configuration fix (size of partition 2),
- tables are now correctly refreshed according to the search filter.
Preference Pane
- improved unconfigured server information display.
Assistant
- Canadian French keyboard support added,
- netboot set creation improvements,
- display sleep mode set to 30 mn in new netboot sets.

Notes
HFS volumes imaging may take a while to properly release the generated disk image (progression bar near or equal to 100% completion).
Please be patient or plug the computer to image to the server in target mode.
creating Mac OS X disk images over NFS is not working at this time (hdiutil freezes after writing 512 bytes).

What's new
Multicast restorations are a way more reliable using read only disk images. So, we’ve set the default disk image type to read only instead of compressed.
Please consider converting your compressed disk images to read only if you plan to use multicast,
Core
- installer download option added to the client/server version mismatch alert sheet (the installer is directly downloaded from your server, internet access is not required),
Bug fixes
Core
- improved reliability of ntfs/devices disk images restoration scripts,
- /var/pcast/server/krb_cc file is now removed after restoration in order to keep Podcast Producer functional (a new file will be generated automatically by the Podcast Producer server),
- some deprecated example scripts have been removed from the repository template,
- triple OS restoration workflow example default partitions size fix,
- ASR multicast startup fix,
Runtime
- target disk validation fix for automated disk images restoration,
- target disk validation fix for automated disk images restoration with a non existing target volume. It will no more switch automatically to ‘First disk available’ and erase all the existing partitions,
- ASR parsing bug fix when restoring a disk image on PPC hardware with a Leopard netboot set,
- device disk images completion fix (ex: Linux disk images shouldn’t stay anymore in the repository’s WorkInProgress folder),
- default disk image type is now set to read only in order to enable you to perform more reliable multicast deployments,
- client multicast data rate slider is now limited to the maximum data rate defined in DeployStudio Assistant,
- directory binding script will now skip the OD binding if the AD one failed first. It enables to preserve the directory search path order to Local, AD, OD. Directory binding script will be relaunched automatically on next boot, so, fixing computer time and rebooting should do the trick,
- Terminal.app is now enabled by default when the application is launched (available before the user is logged to DeployStudioServer).

Admin:
- device disk image renaming fixed,
- client multicast data rate slider is now limited to the maximum data rate defined in DeployStudio Assistant,

Notes
HFS volumes imaging may take a while to properly release the generated disk image (progression bar near or equal to 100% completion).
Please be patient or plug the computer to image to the server in target mode.

To be done
Admin: group network settings support.

What's new
Install
- post-installation script is now able to update NetBoot sets found on all volumes,
- installation on secondary system volumes is now allowed,
Core
- client applications require now a server running the same version of DeployStudio. When the versions differ, an alert is raised to the user and the connection closed,
DeployStudio Assistant
- default Runtime timeout can be set or disabled when creating a NetBoot set (was set to 30s in previous builds),
Admin
- columns sorting capabilities added to DeployStudio Admin activity and master views,
- improved DeployStudio PC interface with an advanced restoration mode (target disk and partitions selection),
DeployStudio Runtime
- alert sheets updated to support the new timeout setting defined by the Assistant in DeployStudio NetBoot sets,
- Increased Runtime logs history (a clear and reload buttons have been added to the computer log window in DeployStudio Admin),
- added support for repository’s Packages sub folders. It enables you to easily group packages within folders and install all of them sequentially. Empty folders are not listed in the Admin workflow editor and Runtime package install action,
- NTFS restoration scripts tries now to rename the computer if a /Sysprep/SYSPREP.INF (XP) or /SYSPREP.xml (Vista) file is found with a ComputerName attribute set,

Bug fixes
Core
- multiple active network interfaces support (DeployStudio Assistant and DeployStudioServer daemon),
- date fix in netboot mode deployments,
- HFS disk images creation bug fix,
Runtime
- default text fields focus fixes,
- Open Directory anonymous binding support,
- directory binding logs disabled (verbose dsconfigldap command was logging arguments values like the admin password),
- DeployStudio PC disk images have been removed from the list in the restoration task,
DeployStudio PC
- pre/post-installation scripts fixes,
- pxe bootloader localization bug fix,
DeployStudioServer
- offline computers are automatically removed from the activity status cache after 1 hour,
- image scan/compression completion status fix,

Notes
HFS volumes imaging may take a while to properly release the generated disk image (progression bar near or equal to 100% completion). Please be patient.

To be done
Admin: group network settings support.
